This charming 18th Century whitewashed cottage is located in the lochside village of Fearnan just three miles west of Kenmore and ten miles from Aberfeldy. This much loved self-catering cottage enjoys a picturesque, rural location and yet is ideally placed for touring in all directions and enjoying the endless attractions and activities available on and around Loch Tayside. Nearby Kenmore is one of Scotland`s prettiest villages with a lovely selection of cafes and restaurants as well as a golf course, marina and the popular Crannog visitor centre.

Accommodation comprises:

Sitting room (TV & DVD), well equipped kitchen / dining room (washing machine, tumble drier, fridge freezer etc), family bathroom (shower over bath). Guests can enjoy the charming cottage garden and private hillside meadow (ideal for exercising dogs and children) with wonderful elevated views over Loch Tay.

Upstairs are two bedrooms, one double and one twin, both beautifully furnished with lovely views of the surrounding hills.

There is guest parking to the front of the cottage.

Hawthorn Cottage enjoys a peaceful location surrounded by the glorious landscapes of highland Perthshire – ideal for guests wishing to simply relax in these lovely surroundings.

For the more energetic walking, fishing, cycling, golfing and water sports are all on offer nearby. Close by, Glen Lyon, Scotland`s longest glen, offers great walking and cycling. From Killin at the end of Loch Tay visitors are well placed to head west to Glencoe, Oban and the West Coast.

Sitting to the front of the cottage is  Clach na Tuirc, the cup and ring marked Fearnan Boar Stone. This ancient boulder is mentioned in the prophesies of The Lady of Lawers. 

All linen is provided; towels can be hired if required.

Electricity charged by meter reading.

Centrally heated by off peak storage and panel heaters.

A 25% deposit secures your holiday with the balance payable 7 weeks prior to the start of your stay.


Hawthorn Cottage, Fearnan Terms & Conditions

  1. Home From Home Perthshire- act only as agents for the owners of Highland Perthshire, Scotland, self-catering holiday cottages featured on its website. The hiring contract is between the holiday maker & the Perthshire self-catering cottage owner. The receipt of a signed booking form/e-mail confirmation and/or payment of a deposit is deemed to be a firm booking and it is assumed that the hirer has read & agrees to the conditions as found on our website.
  2. If accepted the hirer becomes liable for the full remaining balance of the charges which are due seven weeks prior to the commencement date of their Highland Perthshire self-catering holiday.This includes short break cottage bookings. Non-payment of the balance by the due date will result in the Agency regarding the self-catering cottage as being available for re-booking.
  3. In the event a Hirer cancels a confirmed self-catering cottage booking he/she remains liable for payment of the full cost of the holiday. Upon receipt of written confirmation of the cancellation from the Hirer, we will attempt to re-let the holiday cottage and if successful will make a full refund to the hirer less an administration fee of £50 and any other expenses incurred in re-letting the holiday cottage.
  4. The number of persons occupying one of our Highland Perthshire self-catering cottages must not exceed the maximum occupancy level stated in the cottage details. Holiday home owners reserve the right to end occupancy of their Scottish self-catering cottage without notice or refund in the case of a breach of this condition.
  5. The hirer is fully liable for the condition of the self-catering cottage and its contents for the period of their holiday (fair wear & tear excepted). The hirer will make good any damage or loss & leave the self-catering cottage & its contents in a clean & orderly condition. The individual who signed the booking form will be held responsible for the hiring party.
  6. Comprehensive conditions and restrictions applying to each of our Scottish Highlands self-catering cottages (e.g. good housekeeping deposits, limitations on pets, children, short breaks etc) will be stated in each individual holiday cottage description & form part of these Hiring Terms & Conditions.
  7. Owners reserve the right to refuse to hand over occupancy of their self-catering cottage to any person/s that in their opinion, is not appropriate to take charge.In this eventuality hire charges will be refunded in full & the liability of the owner shall cease. Without prior consent properties are not available for hire to single sex groups, stag / hen parties.
  8. If an owner is prevented , due to situations beyond their control, (e.g. fire damage, flood, drought or the interruption of utility supplies),from putting their self-catering cottage at the disposal of the Hirer, the hire charge shall be refunded in full but the Hirer shall have no further claim against the owner.This includes short break bookings of hoilday cottages
  9. Home From Home Perthshire have taken every care to ensure the correctness of their Highland Perthshire self-catering holiday cottages descriptions and all information is given in good faith and deemed accurate, but the Agency cannot be held responsible for changes beyond their control or be liable for any act, neglect or default on the part of the owner resulting in loss, injury or accident caused to the Hirer.
