March 2014

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to the new look website – I have been saying for years that I am going to start a blog.

Here I am in one of the most gorgeous parts of the world, surrounded by arts, culture, outdoors, food & drink, sports, adrenalin buzzes and oh so much more and I’m keeping it all to myself. Outrageous behaviour!

So I’m starting as I mean to go on with this fabulous new site and bringing you pics, news and “things to do” updates! I don’t know about other parts of the country but we’ve been enjoying some gorgeous weather here in Perthshire.

It’s been wonderful start to the year, with snow conditions you couldn’t have ordered; a thick layer of the best ski snow on the slopes and not a drop on main streets and towns. Perfect! With properties just a short drive from Glenshee, we play host to a lot of skiers and snowboarders over the season. Many will take a chance on the weather and book, safe in the knowledge if the snow doesn’t come there’s always hillwalking or bungee jumping nearby!

Crocuses in Spring in Scotland

In the past few days I’ve been out enjoying blue skies and mild weather – they do say March is meant to come in like a Lion but I’m crossing my fingers and hoping the wee lamb has decided to come early. It certainly looks like it with the first purple and yellow of the crocuses peering up from the grass. I’ve been out with the camera capturing the spring as it arrives this year and I’m feeling very happy with my beautiful snowdrop images. You may not know, but up here in Highland Perthshire we enjoy our icy snow drops at the same time as our floral ones!

While the slopes have been covered in powder the woods and walks have been awash with this dainty little sign of spring. The Scottish Snowdrop Festival has always been a huge success here in Perthshire and you’re not too late to enjoy this beautiful celebration of the great outdoors. Have a click over to our What’sOn section for news on Snowdrop Festival Events at Scone Palace, Coupar Angus and Blairgowrie.

A heads up – if you do make it to Scone Palace you must join them in the Servant’s Hall for Tea and Scones… A real treat!

Bluebells in beach woods Perthshire

Don’t worry of you miss the snowdrops, the daffodils are just around the corner and if you’re not visiting until late spring you’ll catch the breathtaking site of Perthshire’s glorious Bluebell Woods. This is last year’s blanket of blue at Blairgowrie – isn’t it gorgeous? †If you have any images of your Spring Break in Perthshire please do send them into us – we’d love to share them here on the website!
If you’ve been tempted with a few days away then don’t forget to add the code SPRING2014†at the checkout – you’ll receive 15% discount on everything up to and including 30th.

Hope to see you very soon, Bea
