Perth City Scotland

For food and drink look no further – the plethora of award winning restaurants, cafes, bistros and tearooms that line the streets of this compact city centre include Michelin guide eateries at all levels.  From the red book’s “charming restaurants” listings you will find Pig’Halle and 63 Tay Street – both ideal for set price lunches and amazing dinners using local produce.  Scotland's only Two Michelin Star chef, Andrew Fairlie is based just a short drive away at Gleneagles Hotel – where you can also enjoy a round of golf on their world famous course.

If you prefer to eat in, you'll enjoy fabulous award winning delis in the form of Provender Brown on George Street and Duo Deli on Princes Street.  There is also Perth Farmers' Market on the first Saturday of the month and many farm shops including Gloagburn and Brig Farm Shop.

Perth's Horsecross is the umbrella for the modern Perth Concert Hall and Perth Theatre – one of Scotland's oldest and most respected Reps. You will also find The Fergusson Gallery alongside a choice of museums, independent art galleries and artisan designers you’ll be in culture heaven! Try the Tayberry Gallery on Princes Street or the West End Gallery on George Street –both fantastic.

Perth is steeped in history, not least of which is the five star Scone Palace, crowning place of Scottish Kings.  A day trip to this amazing visitor attraction should be very near the top of your list! Buses run regularly from Perth City Centre.

Shopping

If you like to indulge in a bit of shopping then do try the quality, independent retailers Perth is famed for. The choice and quality is second to none – in fact it seems a shame not to list them all; it includes gifts from Boo Vake and Bertie Browns, beautiful shoes and clothing from Marians of Perth and Imprimo, homewear from The Fussy Cow and McEwens of Perth and oh so much more!  You’ll also find all of your High Street favourites and plenty of opportunities for a coffee stop or glass of wine.
