Known as "The Gateway to the Highlands" Dunkeld is set in the heart of Perthshire's Big Tree Country. The stunning scenery, natural landscapes and wildlife has established Dunkeld as a hub for outdoor enthusiasts, whilst a vibrant arts and music scene makes Dunkeld a fascinating and inspiring destination. Sleeping 2-6 ( 3 bedrooms ) this comfortable and spacious flat enjoys an enviable location in the very heart of this vibrant highland town.

Over two floors accommodation comprises:

Large, bright and welcoming sitting room, with ample comfortable seating, dining table and TV
Kitchen with gas hob, oven, fridge, freezer, microwave and washing machine
Double bedroom with ample storage
Large modern bathroom with walk-in shower

Upstairs is the twin bedroom and second double bedroom enjoying charming views of the river Tay, Dunkeld Cathedral and hills beyond.

Dunkeld offers a great selection of small local shops, art galleries, craft shops, pubs and restaurants. Alongside this are well stocked local food stores, a great butcher and the hugely popular Aran bakery. The surrounding area has many beautiful walks, great tracks for cyclists and plenty of fishing for anglers who can enjoy salmon fishing on the Tay or trout fishing in the surrounding lochs. Dunkeld Cathedral, with its stunning riverside setting, was founded in the 13th century on the site of a former monastery. It remains the parish church and hosts concerts throughout the year.

For mountain bike enthusiasts Dunkeld offers superb mtb trails, largely based in and on the nearby Craigvinean Forest, Newtyle Hill and Birnam Hill, the perfect way to enjoy the great outdoors, whatever the weather. Loch of the Lowes just outside the town is a designated wildlife reserve where visitors can observe the visiting ospreys and enjoy live webcam footage of the resident red squirrels.

Birnam and Dunkeld are set on opposite banks of the river Tay and are surrounded by wooded hills and stunning countryside. The nearby Hermitage offers beautiful riverside walks, majestic woodlands and Victorian follies. Birnam Arts centre is a fantastic arts and entertainment venue offering a vibrant arts & events program and is also home to the popular Foyer Cafe, Potter's Junction Gift Shop and Beatrix Potter Exhibition. For golfers Dunkeld and Birnam Golf Club is one of the most picturesque in Perthshire.

Dunkeld`s central location means Edinburgh and Glasgow are little more than an hour away by car. The train station at Birnam has regular services to Perth, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness and a nightly sleeper train to London.
