What Our Guests Say

“The Waterfall house is a lovely place to stay. Very spacious especially the lounge which is on the top floor, level with the trees. Local villages are within a short drive. The Watermill cafe in Aberfeldy and the Courie Inn restaurant in Killin are well worth visiting. Just a great place to get away.

“I would highly recommend a stay in Waterfall House. An idyllic setting at Lochtay. The perfect place to get away from it all and truly relax. Immaculate and very well equipped. The lounge is outstanding and the beds so comfy. The sound of the burn and waterfall alongside the house is blissful. A short walk takes you to the Ben Lawyers Hotel where the Host is friendly and service and food excellent, with views over the Loch en route.”

“Beautiful and isolated house tucked away in woodlands with a delightful burn running past. The house is airy and spacious with all amenities. Easy to walk to Ben Lawers hotel for good food and down to the loch for a swim and up into the Ben Lawers range for serious hiking. Absolutely splendid.”

“A lovely place. Beautifully stunning views and great for nature lovers and those that want to get away. When sleeping we had the sound of the waterfall gently outside and it was beautiful to wake up to. Killin (not too far away) also had some very nice pubswith some good hearty meals.”

May 2021

“We had a great long weekend at the Waterfall house. The house is very comfortable and cozy and we felt very much at home. It was clean and had all we needed. The location is fantastic and close to lots of beautiful walks (Munros as well as easier family walks). We took a beautiful evening walk to the loch (about 10-15minutes from the house). Sitting in the armchair by the window with a cup of tea and the view of the waterfall was priceless! Check-in and communication were very straightforward and we got all the info we needed and a good recommendation for fish and chips :) We surely recommend staying at the Waterfall House!”

September 2020

Very spacious and immaculately clean cottage surrounded by trees and streams. Very cosy lounge with the log burner especially when it’s freezing outside! So quiet, peaceful and just a few minutes drive from Ben Lawers and the wonderful Glenlyon road to Fortingall. Loch Tay is always stunning no matter what the season and recommend exploring the south side of the Loch via the single track road if you have time.

This is a fantastic area for walking with the Ben Lawers range of 7 Munros just along the road. At either end of the loch too are two of Scotland's most charming villages. To the east is Kenmore (shops, hotel and golf course) where the replica Iron Age crannog in the loch should not be missed, while to the west is Killin, also with a golf course, range of shops, cafes and the impressive Falls of Dochart. From Killin you can head west to Glencoe and Fort William, or to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs - all easily accessible for a day trip.

Nearby Glen Lyon has long been described as Scotland’s longest and loveliest glen. With stunning mountainous scenery the glen opens out towards Innerwick, where footpaths lead to panoramic views across the glen, and Bridge of Balgie, where there is a popular tearoom, craft shop and the glen's post office.

From Aberfeldy, 7 miles beyond Kenmore, you can explore north to the beautiful Lochs Tummel and Rannoch or visit Pitlochry with its Theatre in the Hills. At Loch Tay you are very much in the centre of Scotland and wonderfully placed for exploring some of the best scenery and attractions that highland Perthshire has to offer.

To the south the attractive village of Dunkeld has plenty of pubs and eateries as well as a charming selection of shops and bike hire for those looking to get out and about on two wheels.
