What Our Guests Say

Such a delight to holiday in this magical converted stable. The photos certainly do not do justice to this gem of a place. The Stables is a light and airy tasteful conversion, with great and sympathetic attention to detail. A home away from home, it is filled with lovely touches: the candlesticks on the dinner table, fresh flowers in vases, a fully equipped kitchen with Tupperware for picnics and tea lights for romantic evenings…everything has been well thought out. Its views are spectacular (and the weather was beautifully sunny). This has lead us to want to return in winter so we can try out the modern log burner! All rooms are beautifully decorated with pictures & ornamental touches enhancing the property while leaving it spacious and uncluttered. The outside private space gives beautiful views in all directions & is enhanced with wildflower areas with paths mown through it and a small orchard with lots of grass & cottage garden flowers. There’s different benches to catch the views and table & chairs for outdoor dining. Thanks to Clara and Ron who made us feel welcome but also gave us our own space. It was a wrench to leave & we look forward to returning to this idyllic spot.

July 2021

A wonderful week spent at The Stables! The accommodation was everything we had hoped for and more! Spacious, spotless and well furnished with everything we required. Beautiful fresh flowers were a lovely touch! The location was perfect for us - peaceful and quiet, with lots of wildlife to see, and with nearby walks and wild swimming spots within easy reach by car. Pitlochry and Blair Atholl within 5 mile radius for supplies and nearby attractions. Close enough to the A9 (new) to travel further afield if we wanted and to the old A9 for shorter, more picturesque routes, but not so close that they caused any disruption to our stay. Lovely property and hosts, peaceful, and stunning views and countryside on the doorstep.

June 2021

We have just returned after a wonderful week staying at The Stables in Killiecrankie. It is a lovely place - really high spec with everything you might need and so comfortable. As others have mentioned it is much bigger than it appears in the photos. Thanks for the booking.

October 2020

Hi - I thought the place was excellent. Beautiful location and view. The Stables were very well catered for - only good things to say!

August 2020

We stayed at the Stables in Killiecrankie for a week in August. We had a delightful stay and found the accommodation to be very well equipped with all items we need to make our stay perfect. This property is finished to very high standard and very spacious. We would definitely highly recommend and are hoping to stay again soon.

August 2020

A lovely designed cottage - Bed was very comfortable. Lovely place to explore Perthshire

November 2019

A beautifully designed and appointed cottage. The perfect base for exploring this lovely area.

October 2019

A beautiful and tranquil place to relax and to come back to after long hard walks. A really lovely place - well thought out and pleasant to be in.

August 2019

Clara was a fantastic host and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The accommodation was much bigger than we expected, the photos don’t do it justice! It is large, airy and very modern. Amazing kitchen and huge bed. There were lots of thoughtful touches throughout which we appreciated. It is set in a great spot to explore - close enough to amenities but far enough out that you feel secluded. Would recommend to anyone!

August 2019

At the end of a wonderful week in this lovely cottage, we’re wishing we had booked a second week. The location is perfect, the scenery beautiful and the cottage is a dream. We have stayed in some lovely holiday cottages over the years, this one ranks No 1.

June 2019

The cottage itself is lovely, clean, comfortable, has every amenity, including a lovely log-burner with plenty of wood included. The owners were very welcoming and available, though not at all intrusive. Definitely at the top of our list of places to stay.

May 2019

My husband and I stayed at The Stables 22-31 May, and enjoyed it immensely. It’s a beautiful cottage surrounded by countryside, sheep and birds galore. It seems to be far from civilization but is, in fact, within three minute of great roads to wherever you want to go, and within minutes of Pitlochry. In fact, the location is perfect.

May 2019

We found The Stables an excellent venue. The photos presented the accommodation well and we were not disappointed in the quality and care taken to present the rooms; all done to a very high standard. Modern, but still in keeping with the Perthshire countryside outside. We could not fault the venue. Excellent for couples who enjoy walking and the outdoors.

May 2019

Situated within the Cairngorms National Park there is an endless array of activities and attractions to explore straight from the cottage. Loch Tay, Tummel and Rannoch, as well as five golf courses, are all within an hours drive. Salmon and trout fishing are available on the Garry and Tay rivers while walkers and mountain bikers will love adventurous trips into the Cairngorms, Royal Deeside or more gentle strolls through Perthshire`s  'Big Tree Country' in nearby Dunkeld and Aberfeldy. The bustling highland town of Pitlochry has a famous year-round Festival Theatre, Hydro dam  and visitor centre, golf course and Scotland's smallest distillery, Edradour, while Blair Atholl (4 miles to the north), is home to Blair Castle, village shops, the award-winning 'Watermill' bakery, a golf course and, in August, hosts the International Blair Atholl Horse Trials.
