Cow Shed 2 is an immaculately renovated hilltop barn conversion with staggering Highland views. Formerly a byre, Cow Shed 2 has been lovingly transformed into a relaxing holiday retreat – perfect for couples and guests seeking peaceful comfort and panoramic scenery.
Just six miles north of Pitlochry in Highland Perthshire, Lettoch Farm holiday cottages enjoy an enviable elevated position above the historic Killiecrankie Battlefield.
Cow Shed 2 was created to offer a space that guests could truly relax in, with a strong focus on sustainable building and natural materials.
The remaining steading was halved by constructing a straw-bale wall, plastered using traditional clay. This created a generous open-plan living space, something guests at the original Cow Shed always praised as a real highlight of their short breaks and holidays in Perthshire. A centrally located wood-burning stove separates a wonderfully cosy sitting room from the spacious open-plan kitchen dining area.
Comfort, sustainability and style are at the heart of Cow Shed 2. The kitchen has been crafted almost entirely from recycled pallet wood – a theme continued with pallet wood-clad feature walls in both the main living area and the adjacent bedroom (bed available as Super King or twin beds – please specify when booking). Underfloor heating runs throughout the cottage, while the wood-burning stove guarantees cosiness in all weathers. The en-suite bathroom features a walk-in power shower.
The Pass of Killiecrankie lies about midway between Pitlochry and Blair Atholl. A little under a mile and a half long, it is a narrow, steep sided glen cut by the River Garry through the surrounding high ground, and forms the most constricted part of what has throughout history been the main route between the Highlands and the Lowlands.
