"Very clean and comfortable house with an interesting history. . well equipped and nicely decorated. 2 bathrooms, one with an over- the- bath shower, the other with a walk-in shower. Dishwasher and washing machine. Nice outside space with picnic bench and a wee burn at the end of the garden. . 1 mile up the hill from Pitlochry town with easy parking just over the road in the local square. Food available in the pub next door. "

"What a beautiful cottage. Everything was as described. About a 12 minute walk into the centre of Pitlochry which was absolutely fine, uphill on the way back though! Would definitely recommend and would stay here again if available when needed. Thanks for letting us stay. "

We also enjoyed the cosy living room with the wood burner when we returned in the evening. Great choice of restaurants for us en-route to the Festival Theatre. Would definitely return. "

"Lovely cottage. Everything we needed. Comfy beds, nice linen and towels. Clean and tidy. The kitchen and dining area were so sociable. Lovely garden. Our wee dog loved it. Great for Pitlochry just away from hustle and bustle but still a nice walk in. Lovely pub next door (not noisy). Great for a drink. Excellent for walks without having to take the car out. Would definitely recommend! Will be back! Bea & team very quick to respond to any questions! "

The house is comfortable with everything you could need. We particularly enjoyed sitting outside in the garden, relaxing to the soothing sound of the stream. The bedrooms were bright and spacious. "This was a fantastic place , Auld Smiddy Cottage! The five of us all give it very high marks. The location was super, walking distance to Pitlochry. However, quieter than being closer to town. All the rooms are very well appointed. We did not lack for anything, in the public rooms as well as the bedrooms. Had we stayed longer we would have taken advantage of the lovely back garden area. All in all I highly recommend this wonderful cottage. "

It was our second stay at “The Stables”, but definitely not our last. The cottage is absolutely beautiful and cosy, and everything was prepared for us with so much heart and care. We enjoyed the beautiful landscape and the stunning views surrounding the cottage. Thank you, Clara, for all the passion and care you put into this wonderful place. We hope to be back soon!

Another most enjoyable stay at one of our favourite places to take a holiday. The Cow Shed was, once again, perfect for our needs. We love the quiet peaceful environment & the amazing views along the valley. A great base to explore Perthshire from. We enjoyed ascending Cairngorm on the mountain funicular railway (near Aviemore) for the spectacular views, followed by a journey on Strathspey Heritage railway from Aviemore to Broomhill.

This is a clean, well and thoughtfully equipped cottage just a few minutes walk to the Main Street in Oban. The weather wasn’t brilliant so it was great to have the summerhouse to sit in with a glass of wine and feel we were outdoors.
