At 1pm Santa and his Reindeer lead the festive parade from Birnam Hotel over the bridge into Dunkeld and Santa' Grotto. Dunkeld & Birnam' Christmas Market is full of wonderful crafts, gifts and local produce, with hot refreshments available, including hot chocolate with marshmallows and cream. More >
The Pitlochry Christmas Festival is kicking off the Christmas season with a fun afternoon for all the family. For the younger visitor there will be storytelling and a mini Highland Games. For grown ups and older children, there will be special offers in shops and cafes, a BBQ at Fisher’s Hotel, street entertainment and market stalls. What a beautiful place to stay. The stables is exceptionally well equipped with many thoughtful touches.
The Stables
We stayed three nights in the farmhouse and loved the quiet and beautiful property. This is a guesthouse on a large working estate and the host family was very friendly and welcoming. We came and went without issue and really enjoyed the nearby town of Dunkeld for food and groceries. The house was very nicely decorated and was really comfortable.
We loved the location, the walks and views from the cottage were varied and numerous, and proximity to the golf club a real bonus. Future guests should know how good this facility is, great food, friendly staff, reasonably priced drinks and a fantastic view, all within five minutes walk. We cannot praise this highly enough.
